PENDULUM
was established in Norfolk in 1972 as an ‘occasional’ theatre company,
initially specialising in devising and presenting anthologies of readings, dialogue and songs in
response to specific requests from Festivals and arts organisations across
Norfolk. Also in celebration of Christmas, Spring, Easter, Autumn etc. – any
opportunity to perform. The Company also presented a number of plays including
Kett, Celebration (a history of the theatre) and The Hollow Crown.
Apart from rare one-off performances Pendulum went into hibernation until it was re-awakened to present Death and the Maiden at Aberystwyth Arts Centre, followed in 2013 by ‘October 1918’.
This renaissance of Pendulum has been marked by the launch of a web site, plans to tour ‘October 1918, to continue the relationship with writer Tom Francis, and seek to support other writers through developing and presenting their work (contact us here).
